Who We Are

CSB Communications Inc. was founded more than 19 years ago with a focus on public affairs and strategic management as a way of helping organizations reach their goals.

We have found that success for our particular clients requires effective public affairs and strong strategic planning. The two naturally combine in the strategic management services we offer.

Over the years we have recruited a number of colleagues with skills in the areas of public affairs, marketing, advertising, sales and training, as clients increasingly ask us to help them implement the strategic and business plans that we develop with them.

Our philosophy
Our founder and current president, Chris Ballard, started his career as a daily print journalist before moving to public affairs and then senior management in the public, not-for-profit and financial sectors.

As a journalist, Chris had access to some of the brightest lights in business, academia, and government. He observed that successful organizations are, generally, those with a strong sense of where they are going, a well communicated plan to get there -- and buy-in from stakeholders.

We believe communications is the key to successful strategic management -- for soliciting input and for building support with stakeholders. It's not good enough to create great plans -- without effective communications they will not become reality.

We do not believe that any one department in an organization makes or breaks a company. For that reason, the barriers between departments -- between people -- must be dismantled if a company is to be sustainable. Organizations must break down departmental silos to succeed. Inclusive strategic planning and good communications can help achieve this, as individuals understand overall business goals -- and their personal and departmental rolls in achieving them.
