Michael Ballard is ...

Michael Ballard is a consultant, facilitator, workshop leader and presenter with over 16 years of experience working with clients throughout North America. Michael specializes in developing and delivering programs to assist clients build their business through his resiliency and rapid innovation strategies and programs.

His broad range of experience includes strategic planning and implementation for sales training, communication and rapid innovation skills. He works with front line workers right up to the boardroom level.

Michael's first career was working for ten years with an international packaged goods firm, where he held five different positions in Canada. In his last sales position, Michael played a major role in the acquisition of the largest dollar volume account in the company's history.

Some of Michael's achievements include:
  • Developing a rapid team-learning program to assist IT professionals learn two and a half years of IT information in 50 weeks.

  • Assisting a food supplement firm in getting their products into the product development cycle for both Subway International and McDonalds International.

  • Developing and presenting the video learning program, Having a Vital Career, for an international technology firm. During the past eight years, this program has been used with more than 10,000 staff and all new division hires.

  • College professor teaching leadership, management and communications skills.

  • Providing resiliency skills to psychiatric doctors and nursing professionals.

  • First lay person invited to lecture at the Dalhousie University Medical Faculty Friday at Four Lecture Series.

  • Worked with an organic food producer, after their attempts failed, to champion a new food product and have their products listed and placed in three provincial grocery chains.

  • Michael is featured as one of North America's 50 most interesting speakers by best selling author George Walter.

  • Developed innovative field training for customers staff and front line managers to assist reach and exceed business objectives by 60 per cent when this book retailer were over 35 per cent short staffed.

  • Lectured at Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital on using resiliency skills to deal with illness and adversity.

Michael's volunteer work has garnered some interesting experiences over the past twenty years.

Michael:
  • Co-chaired the Children of Chernobyl program for the Quinte Ontario Region. In four years, Michael managed to double the size of the program and it's funding. In this region, the program grew to the point it was divided into two areas.

  • Coordinated non-government organizations (NGO's) for Operation Parasol when Kosovo refugees arrived in Trenton, Ontario with 37 NGO's and over 800 refugees.

  • Chaired the Volunteer Development program for the Canadian Cancer Society Quinte Branch for a number of years.

  • Has been an active member of the United Way of Quinte Board of Directors for three years

  • Is a past member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association (CPSA) Professional Sales Designation Committee. They set standards for their professional designation.

  • Is currently a member in good standing of the CPSA.

When Michael isn't working with CSB Communications Inc., he's President of Resiliency for Life.
