Data base marketing -- what response can you expect?
For some products, in some industries, a two per cent response rate is about as good as you can expect, and may be highly profitable. In other industries, with other products, a 40 per cent response rate can be achieved. Consultant Arthur Middleton Hughes recently had a chance to look in detail at the response rates generated by an interesting program run by Paulette (Pete) Goggins of the 3M Construction and Home Improvement Markets Division.
